Draft Hunter Regional Plan on Exhibition
20 January 2016
The NSW Department of Planning and Environment (DP&E) has developed a plan to grow and diversify the Hunter economy over the next 20 years, titled the ‘Draft Hunter Regional Plan’. This plan has been designed to maintain the Hunter’s status as the biggest and most productive regional economy in Australia. This plan consolidates strategic planning for the Lower Hunter, Upper Hunter and Great Lakes for the first time.
The ‘Draft Plan for Growing Hunter City’ has also been developed as a companion to the ‘Draft Hunter Regional Plan’. This plan is intended to guide provision of new jobs, housing and regional-level services in the city.
DP&E has released the draft plans for review, and is currently inviting public comment until 28 February 2016. EPS encourages our clients and colleagues to help shape the growth and economic diversification for the Hunter region by participating in the feedback process.
Please do not hesitate to contact the EPS Planning and Law team for more information on what these plans mean for you, your projects and future opportunities in the Hunter.
