EPS Director Presents at University of Newcastle

24 September 2018

For three years running, EPS has been privileged to present to the third year Environmental Science and Management Students at the University of Newcastle as part of their Applied Environmental Science course. Last month, EPS Director, Steve McCall along with Associate Director, Tegann Kelly attended the university’s campus and presented to the students both face to face at Callaghan and via video link to their Ourimbah campus on the Central Coast.

EPS was one of four industry leading environmental consultancies invited to present on the day, with separate presentations also being offered by public and non-for-profit organisations. The purpose of these presentations are to give the students a deeper insight to the types of careers that emerge from the field of environmental science, and help bridge the gap from education to work within the Hunter Region.

As alumni of the University of Newcastle, Steve and Tegann were pleased to recount their journeys form university into the workplace, and how this background has shaped their professional experiences and career progression. The presentation also included an overview of EPS, its core service areas and key project experience, highlighting the importance of concepts such as stakeholder engagement, political awareness and triple-bottom-line assessment to the environmental consulting profession.

EPS would again like to thank the University of Newcastle for inviting us to present and connect with current students and future industry professionals. We hope to continue to grow this relationship with the University and assist students to develop their on-the-ground practical experience.
