EPS Director Presents at University of Newcastle

12 September 2016

EPS Director, Steve McCall, was pleased to present to the third year Applied Environmental Science course students at the University of Newcastle last fortnight. The course is predominantly comprised of students completing their final year of a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management.  Steve was one of four industry leaders invited to provide insight into a career in the field of environmental science. The presentation occurred live at the Callaghan campus in Newcastle and streamed over video link to the Ourimbah campus in the Central Coast.

Steve’s presentation covered his professional history, an overview of EPS composition and services and some detailed case studies of core current and past EPS projects. The presentation touched on professional ethics, interesting challenges and intricacies of a variety of individual EPS projects, integration of triple-bottom-line framework and career development.

Many of EPS employees are alumni and current students of the University of Newcastle. As such, EPS are pleased to have further involvement with the university. Having successfully placed a student from the University of Newcastle through the university’s placement program in 2015, EPS are expressly interested in a 2016 intake. We are proud to showcase our organisation and assist students to further develop on-the-ground practical skills in a professional setting. EPS link to the University of Newcastle is furthered through consultation with specialists and researcher contacts on project details, where applicable.

EPS would like to thank the University of Newcastle for the opportunity to present and connect with future industry professionals, and have further involvement with the University. If you are interested in applying for placement or a position at EPS click on our ‘Careers’ tab.
