AGL Newcastle Gas Storage Facility

EPS was engaged to undertake an Economic Benefit Assessment (EBA) for the Newcastle Gas Storage Facility (NGSF) project on behalf of AGL.

AGL is one of Australia’s leading renewable energy companies and is Australia’s largest private owner, operator and developer of renewable generation assets. AGL developed the NGSF to meet AGL’s peak gas market demand over winter and to provide additional security of gas supply during supply disruption events. Currently, NSW does not have any similar gas storage capacity.

EPS prepared an assessment of the economic contribution of the NGSF project to the regional and state economies during the project’s construction; and demonstrated the financial and non-financial community benefits flowing from the project’s construction. EPS continues to provide assistance to AGL across a range of its NSW based energy projects.
