One of EPS Principals, Steve McCall, recently had the privilege of presenting on the Newcastle Offshore Wind Project at an event hosted by the Newcastle Institute. During this event, Steve showcased the Newcastle Offshore Wind project proposed by EDF Renewables, accompanied by Michael Jessop, who presented details about the clean energy precinct at the Port of Newcastle.
Steve’s presentation delved into the historical context of climate issues and underscored the significance of renewable energy projects. He explained why Newcastle has been designated as an Offshore Renewable Energy area and highlighted the numerous advantages that the Newcastle Offshore Wind project has the potential to bring to the region. Following the presentation, the audience had the opportunity to ask questions about offshore wind. Steve provided detailed responses to the audience questions for over an hour, covering topics such as social licence, visual impacts, afternoon sea-breeze concerns and small nuclear reactors.
Approximately 100 individuals attended the event, seeking a more comprehensive understanding of the renewable energy initiatives taking place in Newcastle.
