Riverina Solar Farm Granted Development Consent

16 June 2016

Riverina Solar Farm is an approximately 30 MW commercial scale solar station located at Yoogali, near Griffith in New South Wales. The project is one of several in the region, which combined could make Griffith a leading renewable energy hub in New South Wales.

Located adjacent to the Transgrid substation at Yoogali, the Riverina Solar Farm will diversify the region’s energy mix, create employment and tourism opportunities and generate electricity equivalent to powering approximately 12,000 NSW homes.

EPS lodged the Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed Riverina Solar Farm on 29 February 2016. The project was granted development consent on 14 June 2016.

You can find out more information about the Riverina Solar Farm on the project website: www.riverinasolar.com.

The development consent formed part of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) Advancing Renewables Programme ‘Full Application’ submission. Riverina Solar Farm was one of the twenty-two projects shortlisted and invited to submit a ‘Full Application’ for grant funding. ARENA will announce in November applicants that will be awarded the funding.

Please do not hesitate to contact the EPS if you would like to find out more about the Riverina Solar Farm or would like to discuss other renewable energy opportunities.
