CSIRO Scientists in Schools Program
8 January 2017
EPS staff member, Alina Tipper, is participating in the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) Scientists in Schools (SiS) program. The program involves pairing industry professionals with local primary or high schools with the aim of improving science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education.
Alina, an Environmental Scientist at EPS, has paired with local primary school, Morpeth Public School. Alina attends the school one morning per month and completes activities and experiments with the students. Alina hopes her involvement in the program generates excitement about environmental science, improves the student’s general science education and inspires the student’s (especially the young women) to consider a career in science.
