Spatial Data Used to Enhance EPS Project Outcomes

20 March 2017

EPS uses spatial data to undertake desktop studies and to enhance field work assessments. Our GIS team uses ESRI, MapInfo & Google Earth to display and manipulate spatial data.

Base line data is generally sourced from peer-reviewed Government studies including vegetation mapping, digital cadastral database (DCDB), topographic data, zonings & SEPPs, land classifications, hydrology, infrastructure, and many more reputably mapped physical features. Spatial data assessments are customised for each project, and are utilised across EPS’s disciplines of planning, economics, property, environment and energy.

Where a project calls for ground truthing or collection of new data, EPS equips it’s field teams with GPS units to streamline the data integration process.

The catalogue of spatial data that EPS has available is expanding, as well as the technology available. Contact EPS today for information on how the use of spatial data and our in-house GIS team can improve outcomes on your project.
